No one can figure out why a 27-year-old motorcyclist and father of two children was traveling 136 mph on Interstate 4 Monday night, October 24, just before he crashed. The man is currently hospitalized in critical condition at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was riding his 2004 Suzuki motorcycle eastbound at mile marker 36 around 9 p.m. when, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), he was distracted by a state trooper who was parked in the median looking for those exceeding the speed limit.
The motorcyclist then lost control of his motorcycle, overturned, and skidded about 400 feet before he came to a stop. He was wearing a helmet. An investigation is underway by the FHP. Let’s all pray this man pulls through his devastating injuries.
